Single women now make up over 20 million homeowners in the United States, outpacing the roughly 14 million single men.

According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), more women are buying homes on their own and holding onto them longer once they do.

Translation: you don’t have to wait on anyone to make a move.

The East Link Light Rail officially opens, connecting Mercer Island, South Bellevue, and Seattle in a whole new way.

Starting March 28, you can hop on at Mercer Island or Judkins Park and ride straight into the International District/Chinatown—no traffic, no guessing… just an easy, predictable ride.

We’ve been hearing about this since 2008—and it’s finally here.

For those of us living and working on the Island and across the Eastside, this shifts everyday life a bit (in a good way). Fewer car trips, more flexibility, and one more reason to head into the city without overthinking it.
