It may be raining 🌧️ today but the sun ☀️ is shining on my happy clients who just closed on their stunning new home 🏡 in Issaquah!

They say when you fall in love you just know. You get that certain “je ne sais quoi” - an indescribable giddiness and feeling in your stomach that leaves you wanting more. My wonderful clients had found that in each other, and wanted to experience the same in their first home together. It was all so romantic, I was honored to help!

They wanted a special house (no cookie cutter) that felt cozy, yet spacious enough to welcome their blended family; a large gracious property suitable to host their wedding reception in September ; and an easy commute 🚘 to Seattle. In this market it was a tall order, but they were willing to wait for “the one”.

Two years ago, a spontaneous ferry ride from Seattle to Bainbridge Island resulted in one of my most heart-warming experiences as a realtor.

It was mid-pandemic, and Seattle’s competitive high-octane real estate market left many would-be home buyers, my clients included, feeling exhausted and hopeless. Weary after months of searching and eager to get out of an urban corporate high rise, we set our sights on bucolic Bainbridge – a mere 35-minute ferry ride away.

My clients had planned to make a day of it and visit several properties, but we never made it past our first stop. Within seconds of stepping into the foyer, my client turned to me with tears in her eyes and said, “This is it. This is our home.” I glanced at her husband, and he knew it too. “Well, I guess we just bought a house”, he added.

Laughing through tears we hugged, the relief and joy were palpable. Longing to put down roots, Bainbridge Island offered a peaceful escape, wrapped up in a beautiful 5BR contemporary bow. It felt so good.

Fast forward two years, and although meant to be their forever home, life had other plans for this wonderful couple. It was bittersweet to put this well-loved property on the market, but I was honored to be asked to lead the charge. Alas, another family has succumbed to its charms, and my clients have moved on to a new adventure in a new state.

I will miss them and regular visits to this magical island, but participating in life’s big moments with clients who become dear friends is truly what fills my cup.
