By way of background, I am an "Army brat" and a former military wife having had the opportunity to live around the United States as well as in France, Canada and Germany. But, the Greater Tacoma area has been my favorite location and has been my consistent home since 1978. Locally, there are great programs for the sports minded as well as for thespians, musicians and dancers. We love the fact that the ocean is only an hour and a half's drive away for a day at the beach or a charter fishing boat excursion and the mountains are about the same distance away for summer hiking.
