The West Seattle Bridge question to repair or replace, now has a third option, a "new 'rapid' replacement option is modeled after the Lake Champlain Bridge, which was built in just two years."
"The task force will meet again on Oct. 21 and are expected to make a recommendation to Durkan later in the week. There is no official date for when the mayor will make her final decision."
It has now been almost 7 months since the WS Bridge was closed for safety reasons, hopefully the decision will be made soon so that action can commence.

The fate of the cracked West Seattle Bridge, which has been indefinitely closed since March, is still up in the air as a decision to repair or replace the structure has been delayed by the city. But a new solution to the closure may have drivers back on the bridge in just three years.

Watching a fascinating PBS program on Eleanor Roosevelt and while looking up details on Google, I found a an article on her final home in NYC . It is currently for sale ($20 million) and thought I would share it here. It's very interesting that she shared it with her good friends, Dr and Mrs Gurewitsch, she occupied the lower 2 floors and they had the upper 3 floors.
The PBS program is "The Roosevelts: An Intimate History" 2014 in 7 episodes. this was the final episode, I have watched this before.

Former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt lived in this five-story home just a block from Central Park. It has six bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two half-baths. Roosevelt lived there from 1959 until her death in 1962.

Interesting news!
"As states reopen, so are open houses, and buyers have been coming out in force, if masked. Record low mortgage rates, combined with strong pent-up demand from before the pandemic and a new desire to leave urban downtowns due to the pandemic, are driving buyers back to the single-family home market. It remains to be seen if this is simply the pent-up demand or a long-term trend."

If mortgage demand is an indicator, buyers are coming back to the housing market far faster than anticipated, despite coronavirus shutdowns and job losses.

Something to be aware of, the potential of predatory home buying organizations who target fearful homeowners, often seniors with lots of home equity, and buy well below assessed values. There are resources available to help homeowners (listed in the article) and always be sure to look into options.

The real estate market has yet to collapse like in 2008, and assistance is available for homeowners, making panic sales less likely. Even so, the current health crisis already is stirring concern in some corners and interest in others.
