Just a little public service announcement if you are closing on a home loan. A mortgage is publicly recorded, so after you close you will get very convincing spam mail that tells you the name of your mortgage lender, your loan size, and can even seem like it is coming from your mortgage lender. If you are ever in doubt reach out to your loan officer. Usually the information will be about selling you Credit Life insurance and they will try to get you to reach out to them by using scary tactics like telling you that it is urgent or will expire. This is not from your mortgage lender, this is junk mail. Loans often, but not always, change servicers after closing which means that sometimes you make your payments to someone other than your original mortgage lender after closing. You should get information in the mail about this after you close so it is important to always open all mail. You don't want to miss out on the good and important things because of all the junk. Be blessed.
OH and taxes are going to be coming out soon, you will always get a tax bill, but remember your lender gets it too and will pay it on your behalf. Most loans are set up with what is called escrow accounts to pay this out of. And if it isn't you would already know that.
