It's time for Skagit Valley's favorite garage sale—the Samish Island Community Garage Sale!

If you love the thrill of the hunt, this is one event you won't want to miss. I've got all the details you need to make it a great day, plus a few of my favorite stops in Edison while you're in the area.

📅 When: Saturday, July 11
⏰ Time: 8:00 AM–2:00 PM
📍 Where: Throughout Samish Island. Participating homes will be marked with a pink flamingo in the yard. 🦩

If I were making a day of it, here's exactly how I'd spend it... (But first things first—bathrooms. 😂)

🚻 Public restrooms:
Public beach access on Wharf Street has a honey bucket, and there's another at the public park on Halloran Road. The park also has a playground, basketball courts, and pickleball courts if you need a break from treasure hunting.

🥐 Start with pastries:
Swing by on your way to Samish Island for breakfast. The blueberry Danish and blackberry gateaux-basque two of my favorites! They open at 8:00 AM but sell out quickly, especially on weekends. If you want to guarantee your favorites, you can place an online order starting at 7:00 AM and pick it up on your way through.

🍴 Lunch in Edison:
On your way off the island, stop in Edison for lunch and support some fantastic local businesses:
Mariposa: for the best tacos
Terramar: for pizza and a cold bevvie
Tweets Cafe: for their breakfast sando & espresso
Sloughfoods: for a view and charcuterie, and some extras to take home
The Longhorn: for wings and a pint!

🦪 Or, if oysters are calling your name...
Taylor Shellfish is the perfect spot to grab some freshies on the half shell, sip a glass of wine, and enjoy the view.

Sometimes a home inspection calls for a little extra! When representing clients on the purchase of their lakefront home, we had the opportunity to work with PNW Diving Services to inspect the pump that draws the water from the lake 💧. House hunting isn’t always love at first sight 💫

For T & M, it started over a year ago—loan applications, prepping their home for the market (huge thanks to our thorough to-do lists!) and touring everything on the market that checked their boxes.
