Things they don’t tell you about being a realtor. 🤍
I had a vacant land listing on the market for nearly two years.
Multiple offers. Multiple buyers excited to build their dream. Multiple times walking acres of property in the rain, in the mud, in the heat, answering every question, running every scenario.
And one by one, the deals fell apart during feasibility. Turns out the lot was a lot harder to build on than anyone expected.
I eventually lost the listing.
Two years. Hundreds of hours. Real money out of my pocket for marketing. Zero commission.
Nobody posts about this part.
We don’t get paid for our time. We don’t get reimbursed when a deal dies. We show up, we work, and sometimes.. after all of it.. we walk away with nothing.
I’m not sharing this for sympathy. I’m sharing it because if you’ve ever worked with a realtor who went above and beyond, who answered your texts at 9pm, who showed up on a Sunday in the rain- they were doing that without a guarantee.
