Mt Vernon helpers

A note from John and Toni Christianson:

As of yesterday, our local schools temporarily closed their doors as a preventative measure to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19. With this unexpected extended break, our students and teachers are now out of school for the next 5 - 6 weeks, many without their regular schedules to follow.

Over the years, we have seen the many positive effects plants have on people and how working with plants has the capacity to heal. Whether caring for a small houseplant, or planting a rose bush and nurturing it throughout the summer, getting your hands in the soil leads to a healthier lifestyle, which is more important now than ever.

So, we had an idea...

Starting today through Monday, we are giving away one pack of vegetable starts to local students and teachers who are experiencing this extended break. We hope to inspire folks to get outside in the fresh air and create their own vegetable garden at home. By taking care of a garden, we take care of ourselves and each other.
