Not a beach day today but a great day to go House hunting. Today I’ll be hosting an open house from 12-2 at this expansive 5 bedroom home in West Belmar. This home has great outdoor living spaces with a large front porch for relaxing on this quiet, dead end street. Out back there is a deck with a hot tub, great for a cool summer night or even a fun place to warm up on a snowy winter day! Step inside to tour this house with its large living room, updated kitchen and pantry, lots of closet space, 2 bedrooms and a full bath downstairs and 3 large bedrooms and 2 full baths upstairs. Back outside there is a multi car garage perfect for the car enthusiast or could be a home gym, yoga studio, man cave or she-shed. Lots of possibilities! All of this on a 75x150 lot tucked away on a quiet dead end street, while close to shopping and major highways and just 1.5 miles from the beach. Come see 1810 S N St in the West Belmar section of Wall from 12-2 today!

As a realtor, I have the privilege of touring a lot of homes. After a while, many start to look the same. Each decade or period of time comes with its trends and styles that are appropriate to the area. Living in a beach town, I see a lot of beach houses. Every once in a while I go inside a house that just feels different, has a good vibe. My family laughs at me when I say houses speak to me. This house I’m sharing today is quite different. Not at all what I would expect to feel really excited about. Built in 1948, this 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath cape has the warm and inviting feel of many of the homes my generation grew up in. From the time I opened the door, I felt a warm hug. Normally a white and bright person, the paneled walls gave me a warm and cozy feel. Indulge me if you will. Picture some of your early childhood sitcoms. The living room…men in suits with skinny ties sipping on scotch while the women, elegantly dressed in brocade dresses sip on martinis. The dining room table is adorned with a punch bowl, surrounded by the traditional party food of pigs in a blanket and rolled deli meat and cheese. Perhaps Dick and Jane are in the sunroom busy playing with wooden blocks while they keep an eye on Spot. In the kitchen is a big urn of coffee brewing ready to serve with a dessert of ambrosia salad. Or maybe picture an artist or writer living there and loving the bright sun room to spend their days creating in. Maybe it’s a couple from the city who need a quiet summer and weekend house to find respite or to welcome friends and family in.For me this vintage, retro home has such a good feel to it. Offered at $549,000 It is priced to allow for all the renovations and upgrades to suit your vision. Come see if you picture yourself here or know someone who could. 1608 Water St in the West Belmar section of Wall. Open House today, Sunday, from 1-3 pm!

Congratulations to my son Griffin on his enormous accomplishment of graduating from The Naval Academy. He worked so hard for this and this just makes me so proud. All of my children make me proud, but nothing makes me happier than to see them pursue and achieve their dreams. We had a wonderful few days celebrating this young man. Wishing him a bright and safe future.

Congratulations to the new buyers of this beautiful condo with the most amazing sunset views. Closed on this May 17 and closed a chapter for the seller who it was my pleasure to represent. Listed at $315,000 and traded at $335,000, this was a quick and seamless closing thanks to all parties involved. As a seller’s agent, it is sometimes difficult when similar offers come in and you need to advise your client on which offer is most likely to get you to the closing table. You know you have to disappoint others who made equally as great offers. That is when realtor relationships come in. As exciting as it is to deliver an agent good news for their client, it’s difficult to call the other agents with the bad news. I’m always so appreciative when that news is received with grace. Exciting new beginnings for the seller and the buyer of this condo, a genuine and heartfelt congratulations to all.

Just returned from a long weekend in Nashville with some of the family. Did some of the touristy things and found some great places off of the beaten path. Ate too much, drank too much, but you can never have too much fun or hear too much music. Enjoyed every cocktail and every meal and time away with my family. And now…now I am well rested and ready to meet my first grandchild who is due any day now!

Here’s today IG House I Love! I stumbled upon when the brick pantry showed up on my feed. I love brick and am fascinated when it’s used as flooring, and in this instance on the walls. Karen’s home in Florida is casually coastal with traditional touches. My idea of perfection. She uses bright and white along with dark furniture pieces and the brick, which feels warm and inviting to me. The kitchen is stunning, but oh that pantry!! Take a look at Karen’s account and be sure to click on the pantry highlights so you can see the entire room and renovation. Karen not only shares her home, but features other beauties that are sure to make your heart skip a beat.

Todays featured home in my “IG Houses I Love” is Marissa . “Her home” is soothing, elegant, and classic. She has a unique talent for being minimalist but warm and inviting. Every time I’m in Home Goods or Target I think, would Marissa fill her house up with this? And I put it back on the shelf! Sometimes! She decorates seasonally with a minimum of Knick knacks but brings in greenery and fresh florals. She’s a neat freak…and I mean that in the nicest way. She gives wonderful financial advice on where to put your money into your house, and lets you know where you may not see your return. She is also expecting a baby around the same time I am expecting my 1st grandchild so I have enjoyed watching her pull the nursery together. The IG world can be saturated with excessive “stuff” and trends but I always enjoy signing in to see each day. She keeps me in check with my purchasing, inspires me to appreciate the classic pieces I own, and gets me motivated to clean. Her sometimes sarcastic humor is a joy to me, and she pulls no punches, and has a great music selection. Head over to her account and take a look. She’s currently working on a budget friendly kitchen update. She recently replaced her counter tops and now she is having cabinets painted. A Penn St and NJ girl, she provides great sources and references for us here in NJ. The other day she did a question and answer session. Someone asked about her renovations and if she planned to stay in her home. I loved her answer..her goal is to leave each house better than she found it!

The photo isn’t the best as it was taken from my car while trying to sneak up to drop off a gift. This is not an IG house but it is a house I Love and here is why. This house represents years of hard work by the new owners, and years of friendship. My dear bestie and her husband have been renting this house for several years. A while back the landlord said he planned to sell it. When my friend told me I was silent, nervous, afraid. I’m pretty sure her and her husband had their own emotions regarding the news! If you know me, when something is uncomfortable for me, I often ignore it. While my friend and I discuss very personal things, this was something I couldn’t discuss with her. I feared she would be moving away because as realtors, we both know this is a very expensive area to purchase in. I was heartbroken over the possibilities that I wasn’t emotionally prepared to discuss. The end story is they were able to purchase the house from their landlord and they closed on it yesterday! I am beyond happy for them and their family, and selfishly thrilled that my friend is here to stay! As I wrote on my card, you’ve always made your house a home, but now you’ve made the house your own! Looking forward to creating more memories!

Coming Soon listing presented by my colleague Jacob Smith. Showings start Friday! This charming seaside cottage is priced at $539,000 and is located in the West Belmar section of Wall. I always say, east of highway 35 is closer to the beach!! This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home has hardwood floors, fireplace, arched doorways, crown molding, an updated kitchen and “all the things” to make this a classic home. The detached garage has been converted into a bonus room, the perfect she-shed, man cave, or gym. There is usually one thing in a house that stands out to me and in this house it’s the gorgeous brick wall in the entry way. I’m a big fan of brick, and of this neighborhood. If you are interested in a showing, please let me know.

Switching it up today for my “IG Houses I Love.” Today I’m sharing Kim’s account .darling.duplex.life. For me, it’s less about her house itself, but how she lives her life in and about the house. I didn’t think anyone could love where they live as much as I do, but Kim does! She wakes up each morning, too early for me tho 🤣, shares her coffee and a good song then she’s excited to share her day. She’ll take us along on walks along the river and talks about the history of the town. She takes her followers along to concerts, Portuguese dinners, the beach, up to her cabin, and my favorite is when she takes us to visit her Uncle Art. He grows all his own veggies, shares his stock tips, and is quite an enjoyable character. If nothing else, check out Kim’s highlights with Uncle Art. When she’s not out and about, Kim is home hanging with and cooking for her beloved Jeffrey. You can tell he adores her, but wants nothing to do with being on IG, as much as she prompts him to engage with her audience. It’s quite cute. Kim has the kind of house that welcomes you. Her kitchen is not IG staged, it’s simple but warm and inviting. And a lot of actual cooking goes on in that kitchen! Kim is real. You know you could knock on her door to share your joys, or a good cry. She’d pour you a cup of coffee and cook you a meal. She has no problem sharing her hardships, but is a ball of positive energy. That is why I’m choosing Kim’s house today- because it’s a house filled with love, laughter, family, friends. None of that can be purchased in a home decor shop, nor is any of it staged. She’s the real deal. Take a peak at Kim’s account and you will feel like you made a new friend.

On this yucky day, for todays version of “Homes I Love ❤️ “ I’m sharing a warm and cozy home, appropriately named . No lake but this house has “all the things” that make my heart skip a beat. The bright, crisp backdrop to the warm and inviting furniture. I love a cozy chair next to a bookcase. Speaking of bookcases, check out her IKEA hacks highlights reel. She used basic IKEA bookcases and trimmed them out with millwork to give them a custom, built in feel. She did this around her fireplace and in her bathroom as well. What else do I love, the coiffured ceilings and millwork, the mismatched chairs in her dining room, along with the china cabinet. No one seems to have those anymore and I love them! I simply adore the little rolltop desk, which was hers as a little girl. I had one as well which sadly is long gone! How sweet is her daughters room? She has such attention to detail, from the items she uses on her bookshelves and her coffee table to the fabric trim she put on basic drapes, also from IKEA. I’ve always said that when you walk through the doors of my house, you should feel warm and welcomed, safe, and at peace from the world that exists outside. She feels the same way, that her calling is to create a peaceful home. Take a look at her IG page to enjoy the rest of her photos. On a nasty, rainy day like it is here in NJ today, I’d love to be sitting in the corner chair by the fireplace with a good book.
