Kim McAlpine - Wilcox Real Estate Group Full-time real estate agent representing residential buyers and sellers in NC and SC I was born and raised in a military town in eastern North Carolina.

Before becoming a full-time broker, I graduated from East Carolina University and used my degree in Hospitality Management to build experience in both the restaurant and hotel industries. My husband's career took us to Texas, where buying and selling my own personal property inspired my passion for real estate. Two kids later, we moved back to NC to be closer to family. In 2017, I earned my real e

state license and I joined Wilcox Real Estate Group in 2020. When I'm not assisting my real estate clients, you can find me at one of my kids' sporting events or volunteering with the local REALTOR® association, at church, and within the school system. In addition to my experience in the hospitality industry, my enthusiasm for helping others and attention to detail allow me to connect with clients and provide the best service possible. I know investing in a home can feel overwhelming, but my mission is to make each transaction as smooth as possible.

📉 You may have noticed that the pace of home sales is slower. Homes are definitely taking longer to sell with days on market in the Charlotte Region at 48 days, up 37.1% from 35 days last August. List-to-close is at 92 days, up 12.2% year-over-year from 82 days in August 2024. (Remember: These numbers can vary when you get into specific towns/neighborhoods!)

What does this mean❓

⏳ Sellers have to be patient and consider the timing of their home sale, especially if they need to sell their home in order to buy one.

💎 Buyers should not count out homes that have been on the market awhile! There are some amazing properties on the market that just haven't had the right buyer come through! It doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong with the house.

Yesterday was the Gaston Association of REALTORS® Annual Membership Luncheon at the beautiful Barn at Blue Sky Farm. We learned CPR tips from Regina Fazenbaker with American Red Cross for REALTOR® safety month, were introduced to GAR leadership for 2026, collected supplies for Gaston Foster Closet, and showered our very own Jenny Hackett!
