Celebrating the next generation of manufacturing talent! 🙌

GBEDC was excited to join the Stateline Manufacturing Alliance - SMA for Signing Day, recognizing 33 students as they take their first steps into careers in manufacturing. The turnout was incredible, with more than 250 attendees coming together to support these future professionals and the growing momentum behind workforce development in our region. 🔏

What a week for GBEDC! 👏✨

Here’s a quick look at everything we’ve been up to across the Greater Beloit region:

On Wednesday, we attended the Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce 3rd Ignite Summit. A full‑day event focused on leadership, innovation, workplace wellbeing, and financial strategies. It was a great opportunity to learn from expert speakers and connect with professionals across the Stateline. 🔥

We also visited The Lincoln Academy for their 8th grade ILP presentations, where students showcased their interests and future goals. It’s always inspiring to see emerging young talent in our community! 🎓

Yesterday, we had a great Civic Affairs meeting in partnership with Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce, where we welcomed Becky Valcq, President of Wisconsin Power & Light and VP of Energy Delivery at Alliant Energy. Becky led an insightful discussion on energy usage in our region, with a special focus on data center development and what it means for our future. ⚡💡

We also celebrated Hidden Creek Estates at their Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for their new Wine Barrel Tiny Homes, such a unique addition to our community! 🎉✂️🏡

Today, we visited with Joeann Dannie Evans to check out their exciting new business, Bastani Ice Cream and Sweet Shoppe, coming soon! Stay tuned for more details! 🍨🍰

We also had the opportunity to support South Beloit High School with their Junior Scholar Mock Interviews. It was great to see students building confidence and preparing for their future careers! 💼

🚚🚴‍♂️ The City of Beloit, Wisconsin - Government is hosting a Touch a Truck & Bike Rodeo on Thursday, June 25 from 10am–12:30pm at Telfer Park (2101 Cranston Road)!

Families are invited to explore heavy‑duty equipment, meet the operators, and learn more about the machinery used to keep our community running.

NEW this year: a Bike Rodeo in partnership with Stateline Spinners’ Youth Tutoring Cycling Club, Bike Elves, and Wisconsin Bike Fed - helping young riders learn cycling safety. Bring your own bike and helmet or use the ones available on site.

🚀 We’re excited to share this upcoming event with Blackhawk Technical College!

This Thursday, May 14 at 11:30 AM, students from Blackhawk’s Electro‑Mechanical and Automated Systems programs will present their TIMS 2 Spring 2026 Capstone Demonstration at the IMEC facility.

🔧 Students will walk attendees through the hydraulic test unit they designed and built for Tigre as part of their final course - a great chance to support local talent, learn about their work, and connect with students seeking full‑time employment opportunities.

We’re gearing up for an amazing July 4th at Riverside Park with fireworks and a free Beloit‑Janesville Symphony Orchestra concert! 🇺🇸✨

What a great day supporting our future workforce! 🙌

The Greater Beloit Economic Development Corporation was proud to help organize yesterday’s Middle School Career Fair at the Stateline Boys & Girls Club through our joint Business Education Committee with the Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce. Nearly 500 students explored hands‑on career options and connected with local professionals who inspired them to think about their futures.

Huge thanks to the Beloit‑area schools, businesses, colleges, nonprofits, and partners who participated - and a special thank‑you to the Stateline Boys & Girls Club for hosting.
