In 2011, Aya earned a Bachelor of Science Business Administration degree with a concentration in International Business from San Francisco State University. Prior to settling into her career focused on diligently and smartly serving her clients’ Marin real estate goals, Aya was an overseas sales representative based out of Kagawa, Japan for a prominent Japanese glove company. Aya worked closely wi
th her California-based client, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of golf clubs, on the design and material selection for their branded line of golf gloves. Aya would implement these designs, working with materials suppliers within Japan and overseas and factories in Indonesia and Myanmar, communicating progress to her client throughout and assuring that all of her client’s timing and quality expectations were well met. Aya enjoys opportunities to introduce, represent and educate others with respect to Japanese culture. She interned with the cultural, educational and public affairs division of the Consulate General of Japan where she was involved primarily with event planning and hosting and preparation of materials in support of the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program. During her post-graduation 'Optional Practical Training' year as a sales representative for a wholesale distributor of seafood and specialty grocery items sourced primarily from Japan, Aya consulted with Bay Area chefs focused on a variety of cuisines to introduce and broaden the offerings from Tokyo's Tsukiji Fish Market on local menus. Aya routinely volunteers her time in support of the Japan Society of Northern California’s annual award of honor gala event and is president of the Marin Kamishibai Club, a Japanese pre-school storytelling and activity group. Aya is also an accomplished Electone player, having trained since childhood. Aya and her family make their home in Tiburon.
