30 years ago, Erich Schultz and Steve Toomey saw what Bend was becoming long before most others did. Growth was inevitable, and with it came a clear need for a commercial brokerage company that could help guide that transformation with intention and expertise.

Since then, Compass Commercial has played an integral role in shaping how Bend and Central Oregon have grown, helping the region not just expand, but adapt alongside a rapidly rising population. From early site plans sketched out on restaurant napkins to active participation in city council meetings and long-term development strategy, the work has always been hands-on, local, and forward-thinking.

Over the years, the company has weathered the highs and lows that define resilient communities: the 2006 recession, a global technology boom that reshaped demand, and the challenges of a worldwide pandemic.
