Fall time = goodbye tourist

There’s just something about this time of year here. The tourists are gone, the summer smoke has finally cleared, the trails feel like they’re mine again, and the mornings have that perfect crispness in the air.

Summer in Bend gets a lot of attention, but fall might just be my favorite season of all. The crowds start to disappear, the mountains come back into view, the leaves turn every shade of gold and orange, and life just feels like it slows down a little.

It’s the season of having trails to myself, morning runs in the cool air, long walks along the river, hikes through Shevlin Park, coffee downtown, and soaking up those sunny afternoons before winter rolls in.

The weather is perfect, the colors are changing, the smoke has cleared, and Bend starts to feel like our little mountain town again.

If you’ve never experienced fall in Bend, Oregon… you’re missing out. And clearly my dog, Hazelnut, loves this time of year probably more than I do.🤪

I truly believe I have one of the best jobs in the world. 🤍

Being a real estate agent in Bend, Oregon has given me so much more than a career. It has given me the opportunity to meet some of the most incredible people, create friendships that I know will last far beyond the closing table, and be a small part of some of the biggest moments in people’s lives.

I’ve had the privilege of helping people buy their very first home, find the home they hope to raise their family in, purchase an investment property that helps build their future, relocate to a completely new area, and sell a home filled with years of memories so they can start their next chapter.

And that’s probably my favorite part about real estate — every person has a different story.

No two days are the same. No two transactions are the same. One day I’m handing keys to a first-time homebuyer who never thought homeownership would be possible, the next I’m walking acreage, negotiating an offer, getting a home ready to hit the market, solving a problem that came up during an inspection, or running across town for a last-minute showing.

It keeps you on your toes, and it definitely keeps life interesting. 😂

The hours can be endless. My schedule is rarely predictable. Weekends aren’t always weekends, vacations usually include a laptop, and sometimes my phone feels permanently attached to my hand. There are early mornings, late nights, stressful negotiations, unexpected problems, and plenty of moments where you have to figure things out as you go.

But I genuinely wouldn’t have it any other way.

Because at the end of all of it, I get to help people make decisions that can change their lives. I get to watch someone walk into a house and realize, “This is it.” I get to make the phone call telling someone their offer was accepted. I get to put a SOLD sign in front of a home after months of hard work. I get to hand over keys and watch a completely new chapter begin.

And I get to do all of that in Bend, Oregon — a place I absolutely love calling home myself.

Best job in the world. Best place to do it. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Name a more perfect Saturday morning… waking up early, grabbing a coffee, driving 25 minutes out of town, and going for a run around a beautiful mountain lake while watching the sun come up. 🙌🏽🌲🏔️

Sometimes I have to remind myself just how lucky we are to live here. There’s really no vacation needed when you live in Bend because places like this are literally in our backyard. What a blessing to call a place home that other people travel from all over just to experience. 🫶🏼

One of my absolute favorite places in Central Oregon is the Cascade Lakes Highway. It’s easily one of the prettiest drives — surrounded by lakes, endless trees, mountain views on both sides, and more places to stop and explore than you could fit into one day.

Whether it’s going for a run around the lake, paddleboarding, hiking, camping, finding a spot by the water, or just taking the drive with the windows down, it’s one of those places that instantly makes life feel a little slower.

And I think that’s one of my favorite things about living in Bend. You can have a busy week, a million things going on, and then drive 20–30 minutes outside of town and suddenly it’s quiet. No traffic, no rushing, no distractions — just fresh mountain air and a pretty good reminder of how beautiful life can be when you slow down enough to enjoy it. 🤍

Living where other people vacation will never get old.

It’s about to be my favorite time of year in Central Oregon, and I know I may be jumping the gun a little (and some of you may be mad at me for saying it 😂), but the end of summer and beginning of fall is my absolute favorite time to be outside and take in all the beauty Bend has to offer. 🍂☀️

The weather is perfect, the colors start getting bright and vibrant, and I’m mentally ready for life to slow down just a little.

This is one of my favorite places to go for a run! It’s the perfect loop around the lake and just under 2 miles—do it once or as many times as you want for the perfect weekend run. 🙌🏽🏃🏽‍♀️
