Our hearts are broken for the Silver Rail Elementary and our community.

On Thursday, three children and a beloved teacher were taken from us, and a student and another teacher were seriously injured. There’s nothing we can say that will make sense of a loss like this. What we can do is stand with the families, the students, the teachers and staff, and the first responders who rushed in to help, and keep standing with them in the weeks and months ahead.

Silver Rail is more than a school. It’s a neighborhood, a place where so many Bend families have put down roots, and its loss is felt in every corner of this town.

If you’d like to help the families directly we have added fundraisers in the comments.

We’ll add more as they’re confirmed.

To every parent who held their kids a little tighter this week: you’re not alone. Be gentle with yourselves, check on your neighbors, and lean on each other. That’s what Bend does.

Sometimes real estate is just… sad.

Properties like this can come from so many different circumstances—homes left vacant, difficult life situations, deferred maintenance, or even squatters taking over a property.

Whatever the story, there’s still a property and an owner who needs to figure out what happens next. Sometimes our job is simply helping make an overwhelming situation feel a little more manageable.

🔥 When wildfire strikes, preparation can make all the difference.

This reel shows a client’s property after a wildfire moved through more than 80 acres in Central Oregon.

The fire burned across the land, but thanks to previous fire mitigation efforts and the incredible work of our firefighters, the home was saved and many mature trees remain standing.

While there are never guarantees during a wildfire, creating defensible space and reducing fuels around your home can significantly improve the chances of firefighters being able to protect your property.

A huge thank you to every firefighter and first responder who puts themselves in harm’s way to protect our communities.
