Happy Mother's Day to all the mamas out there...

This Mother's Day hits different for me. It's the first Mother's Day where my family is complete; The first Mother's Day I've been blessed to know both souls that have and will create my motherhood alongside me. To say I'm blessed doesn't even do it justice. Is it hard? Most certainly, but I wouldn't trade a moment of experiencing the special love only my babies and I share for anything!

A special happy Mother's Day to my mom! You have not only raised me, but you've helped guide me on my journey into motherhood. Thank you for being a great mother and and even better Go Go to my kiddos. We all love you! 🥰

Officially introducing Gemma Grace to the world. She was born 7 lbs 6 oz and 20" of pure love on January 27th.

I can't believe she's already 7 weeks old today, but then again, this whole recovery period and integration period into a family of 4 has been nothing if not overwhelming.

Here's some pictures to demonstrate 6 things I've learned on this journey so far:

1.) Second-born newborn babies are only peaceful when they're sleeping. But isn't she the cutest???

2.) You never outgrow needing your mom when things get tough, even when you're a mama (x2) yourself.

3.) Having another baby with your husband and watching him connect with her only makes you fall even deeper in love with him. Who knew that was even possible?

4.) Wear the dark circles under your eyes with pride: you just made a baby and are providing her with everything needed to thrive in life.

5.) Your first born will look like a full grown man next to your newborn--but watching both your babies develop a bond is beyond heartwarming. 🥰❤️

6.) The newborn stage passes by so quickly, it's almost impossible to soak it all in while totally sleep deprived... Try to anyways..

This Valentine's Day hits different. While Valentine's Day is generally a celebration of love, this year I'm celebrating the commitment Chance and I share to one another, even when things get tough.

The last two months, Chance has been an incredible father and husband. We've been through a full month of promordal labor, a c section, a NICU stay for Gemma, an extended stay in the hospital to treat postnatal preeclampsia, an ER visit for dangerously high blood pressure due to preeclampsia, an ambulance ride to the hospital and then two lifesaving surgeries--and now an extended recovery. Chance has taken care of me and Zendric while also introducing Gemma into our family in the midst of everything else. I love our love, but I'm beyond grateful for Chance's devotion to our family.

Happy Valentine's Day, . Thank you for all you've done and everything you continually do for our family. We're so lucky to have you in our lives! 🥰🥰

Vacation days are the best days! I haven't had the chance to post about our trip to Tulum because I was too busy savoring every single moment with my family. We took this trip to earmark a special moment before we become a family of four --and it was everything we hoped for (and a little more)!

We explored, played in the ocean and pool, relaxed by the beach, ate our weight in food and goodies, spent 9 days with uninterrupted time together, flew on 4 "ailpanes", and survived a hurricane. And that's just for starters...

Now we're back and ready to work our butts off leading up to baby Gigi's arrival in January. Counting my blessings that we were able to take this time just us three to rejuvenate! 🥰❤️

I can't believe my favorite baby boy in the whole wide world just turned two!! I love you so much, Zen, and I'm so proud of the little human you're becoming. Every day you amaze me with your fun little personality, but even more so because you have such a big heart. You love people, and you love showing that love whenever you can. You've grown and learned so much in the last two years, and I can't wait to see what this year holds for you. Thank you for being you and making our world so much brighter. 🥰

Zen update: he's healing fast and in good spirits! We feel so grateful he's projected to make a full recovery without any long-term repercussions! 🙏🙏🙏

I haven't talked much about this, because my main focus has been taking care of my baby boy....

But, this last Thursday Zendric grabbed a piping hot curling iron that his babysitter had set on the bathroom counter. When he grabbed it, he panicked and didn't/couldn't let go of it for several seconds, causing 2nd and 3rd degree burns on the entirety of his left palm, extending to every finger.

We rushed him to the ER in Bend, where they assessed that he needed to be transferred to the Oregon Burn Clinic in Portland. We were discharged with some basic burn supplies and the expectation we'd need to get Zen to Portland the next day. Friday morning, we left for Portland at 5:00 AM and got to the burn clinic as they opened for the day. Zen was seen by the State's best burn specialist, who cut all the skin off his hand, wrapped his hand with the best burn ointment for 3rd degree burns while teaching us the regimen we have to perform daily on him, and then requested a follow up for this week for a full assessment of his hand.

It has been one of the toughest things I have faced as a mother, but I've been so proud of Zen for how brave he's been throughout the process. We're on the path of recovery, but it'll be a long journey for us all.
