SNOW LOADS IN DESCHUTES COUNTY

Did you know that across Deschutes County, snow loads can vary? Interested in finding out what the snow load for your property is? Visit dial.deschutes.org, search for your address, and click on Development (far left menu). Then select Summary. In many cases, snow load information is available at the bottom of the page under the County Development Details section.

Generally, agricultural buildings, older buildings and unpermitted structures are most susceptible to the effects of heavy snowfall. Property owners should watch for signs of overloading, such as cracks forming in the walls or ceilings and doors/windows that are not operating normally and should consider contacting an engineer or other qualified professional with specific questions/concerns.
