Cate has been a Central Oregon resident since 1976. Cate grew up in a small town in north Georgia with three sisters and parents who instilled in her the values of honesty, respect for all, and that your word is your bond. Her philosophy for life is “It’s not what you say, but what you do that builds your character”. Cate earned a BA in Sociology from Georgia College and
a masters degree in Social Work from Florida State University. She worked as a counselor, grant writer and in middle management for family and children’s service agencies in Georgia, Florida, Texas and Oregon. Cate became a Real Estate Broker in 1986 and started her real estate career in residential and land sales. In 1992 Cate joined the sales team for the Broken Top PUD and was successful in selling out that development. During that time (1996) she started her own real estate company and was the on site sales office for the development. She owned her company, Cushman & Co. Preferred Properties for 10 years before being awarded the first Sotheby’s franchise in Oregon in 2006. After 14 years as an owner Cate was ready to step out of ownership to focus on the aspects of the real estate business that she enjoys most, listing and selling properties. Her affiliation with Bend Premier Real Estate in January 2011 allows her to work in a supportive environment of consummate professionals who all have the same high standard of business ethics. As a good communicator, Cate prides herself in listening to her clients needs and working hard to achieve their goals.
