A Day Without Real Estate: Mexico City Edition

Every now and then, you need to step away from the houses, contracts, deadlines and emails and simply experience something new.

Mexico City completely captivated me. A city that feels like an open air museum, a center for the arts, a culinary mecca and a beautiful collision of history, architecture and culture.

Coffee I’ll never forget. Restaurants I’m still thinking about. Art that will stay with me long after I’m home. And beauty around every corner.

I’m so grateful I had the chance to break away and explore a city I had never ventured to before. Mexico City, you were unforgettable.

Now back to real estate… but with a very full heart.

What I’ve learned about real estate that no one tells you…

Take the emotion out of it.

Buying or selling a home is exciting, stressful, and personal, but at the end of the day, it’s a business decision.

Know your goals.
Know your numbers.
Know your non-negotiables.
Do your due diligence.
And don’t let falling in love with a house—or getting attached to a price—talk you into a decision that doesn’t make financial sense.

Interesting fact: Buyers who become emotionally attached to a home can be more likely to overpay or waive important protections, like an inspection contingency. What feels like a small compromise in the moment can become a very expensive decision later.

Your heart can love the house. Your head should make the decision.
