Happy Halloween 👻

As we enter the Halloween season, remember these safety tips as you prepare your activities for the season.

In Bensenville, trick-or-treating is welcomed from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 31.

🎃Trick-or-treaters, be sure to respect homes not participating this year.
🎃Never trick-or-treat alone. A responsible adult should always accompany children while trick-or-treating.
🎃For visibility we recommend children and adults wear something lit or visible in the dark, such as a flashlight, glow bracelet or necklace, or flashing attire.
🎃Choose costumes that are flame resistant, do not obstruct a child’s vision and do not drag on the ground.
🎃Trick-or-treaters should watch for traffic, obey all traffic signs, look before crossing the street and never cross the street between parked cars or in the middle of the block.
🎃Motorists should take extra caution while traveling through town on Halloween and be alert for trick-or-treaters.
🎃Don’t forget to wait before you eat your treats! Make sure a parent or guardian inspects the candy first.

Join Bensenville Public Works for a unique experience allowing you to get a behind-the-scenes look at the skills, tools, and equipment required to maintain the village's infrastructure.

10 AM- 2 PM: OPEN HOUSE EVENT

10 AM–NOON: PAPER SHREDDING EVENT (ON-SITE) – Residents may bring up to 2 banker boxes of paper for shredding, NO binders. Persons should stay in the vehicle.

10AM-NOON: E-DRIVE EVENT. Most items are FREE of charge, excluding CRT, Flat Screens, Projection TVs, and Monitors. TVs and monitors can be paid for in advance at https://recycling.eworksesi.org/

10AM-NOON: TEXTILE RECYCLE EVENT - Please ensure all of the textiles are dry and remove all hangers and any sharp objects.
