Read this first 🌱

As we head into yard season, I’m seeing more homeowners hiring help for mowing, cleanups, and landscaping projects, which is great! But there’s one thing many people don’t think to ask…

👉 Is your landscaper insured?

Here’s why it matters:

General Liability Insurance
If they accidentally damage your property (broken window, fence, irrigation, etc.), this is what covers it, not your homeowner’s policy.

Workers’ Compensation Insurance
If someone gets hurt while working on your property and they don’t have coverage, there’s a chance it could come back on you.

A worker's comp “waiver” or someone saying they’re self-employed does NOT fully protect you.

What you should ask for:

* Proof of general liability insurance
* Proof of workers’ comp (especially if they have a crew)

A legitimate business will have no problem providing this.

I know it’s tempting to go with the cheapest option, but this is one of those areas where cutting corners can cost you way more in the long run.
