As tax season approaches, here are some responsible ways to use your tax refund 👇🏼👇🏼
1. Buy a cow (or half a cow) and stock your deep freezer. grocery prices aren’t getting cheaper.
2. Start or add to a Christmas fund so December doesn’t wreck your budget.
3. Pay off high-interest credit card debt and free up your monthly income.
4. Bulk buy essentials: toilet paper, paper towels, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, laundry detergent. future you will be grateful.
5. Get ahead on big bills: car payment, rent, mortgage, insurance premiums.
6. Purchase school clothes and supplies now (or set the money aside so August isn’t stressful).
7. Put money back for a summer vacation — memories > impulse purchases.
8. Build or add to your emergency fund (3–6 months of expenses if you can).
9. Catch up on medical, dental, or vision appointments you’ve been putting off.
10. Make a needed home repair before it becomes a bigger, more expensive problem.
11. Open or add to a savings account for your kids.
12. Invest in something that increases income. A certification, a course, tools for a side hustle.
Your tax refund isn’t “extra money.” It’s money you already worked for.
