Yes, rates have climbed. But the interest rate you see online doesn’t necessarily have to be the rate you live with.

Right now, seller credits can be one of the most powerful negotiating tools in a real estate transaction.

Instead of negotiating $10K, $15K or even $20K off the purchase price, we can potentially negotiate that money as a seller credit toward a rate buydown — which may make a much bigger difference in your monthly payment than a price reduction.

And sellers, this matters for you too.

Offering money toward a buyer’s closing costs or rate buydown can sometimes be a smarter way to make your home more attractive without making a major price cut.
