With severe winter weather approaching and way below 0 degree weather, it’s important to take care of your home whether you own or lease. Here are some of my tips to help you stay warm and safe

• Disconnect all garden hoses from outside faucets if you haven’t already, if you have covers for the faucets, now’s the time you want to put those on

• Highly recommended to let your faucets trickle/drip when not in use, especially if they are on an exterior wall and if your hot water tank is in your garage. Also open the cabinet doors under those sinks as well

• Know where your water shut off is in your home, whether it’s in there front yard or in your home (usually by your hot water tank) This is important in case of broken pipes

• Make sure your air filters are clean or new. This will ensure that your furnace runs clean and efficient when it’s working longer than usual

• Keep your interior doors open, this helps heat/air better circulate and even out the heat throughout

• Keep an eye on your tire pressures on your cars, during cold weather, it’s common to see a drop in pressure

• Now’s the time to buy ice melt/de-icer/ice scrapers/snow shovels

• Stock up on some food essentials to keep you from going to the store as little as possible.

• PLEASE bring your pets in, no living creature should endure these types of conditions

Dont get dunked on and know its still a good time to buy!

*** Interest went down considerably the last 24-hours

*** Homes are still selling, sellers are now offering concessions to buyers (EI: closing cost paid, home warranty, seller paying towards the buy down of the buyers interest rate)

*** NW Arkansas is still BELOW the national avarage home sale price, eventhogh NWA as a whole is biggest than most big cities around us

*** Its still smarter than leasing, if you are looking at leasing for the next 2+ years

*** We are blessed to have a great local economy, with it being the home of Wal-Mart, Tyson, JB Hunt and having vendor offices everywhere, we get to still enjoy a growing community that leads to job growth and real estate growth in general.
