It isn’t lost on me the significance of nature being represented both indoors, with all the different wood textures, as well as outdoors through double paned glass windows.

❤️ if you love the way cabins make you feel 🥰

In need of a bathroom renovation? Here are some quick TIPS in choosing tile. Also SWIPE to see what our bathroom used to look like.
TIPS:
1. Evaluate the lighting. Is there a window for natural light? Or sufficient artificial lighting (i.e ceiling and vanity lights)? If not, consider tiles with brighter color (white is usually preferred) variations so the room doesn’t appear too dark and smaller than what it really is.
2. Evaluate the bathroom floors. Are they wood floors? Tile floors? Laminate floors? And what color(s) are they? If you go to a tile store and pay for a sample tile, you can then match it up against your floors to determine what looks right and what doesn’t.
3. Evaluate the style of tile. Larger porcelain tiles are typically used on the bathroom floors while smaller tiles are typically used on the shower walls and shower floors. Also, mosaic tiles are typically used in kitchen backsplash.

Just remember, though, there is no REAL rule of thumb when selecting tile. These are just a few commonly held tips that can certainly be defied to fit your own desired look.

Are you looking to upgrade your bathroom soon? What tiles are you thinking of adding? Comment below 👇

Ever had a vision in your head and when you finally see it in reality, it just doesn’t work (see picture compilations)? 🙋🏽‍♀️Not only is it a time waster but it is also costly. 😬
Here are a few things I’ve learned to do now:

1. (and this is huge) DON’T BE IN A HURRY. The project will get done. Yes, timelines are important but in major renovations deadlines are never met and that is ok.
2. Get samples AND test them out. Turns out, I picked the wrong color blue. Like, massively❗️picked the wrong color blue. I did not get a paint sample and test it out. Lesson learned (hopefully 😏).
3. Know what works. I think it’s GREAT to test the water, try new things…. but also know what works. Scroll IG, view Pinterest for ideas and inspiration but if time doesn’t permit for creativity, then just stick with the basics. 🤷🏽‍♀️

What do you think of our final color choice? Did we make the right or wrong decision? Also, what do you think of us painting the doors? Was that a nice touch? 😉

I think it’s about time I introduce myself as the creator of this IG page.

Hi All! My name is Adrian and I love home interior and exterior design. I’ve prayed for God to show me my talent in life and while I do believe he’s still showing me, I can say I have a true passion for design (which includes fashion design 😌) and customer service. I BELIEVE in exceptional service and it stems from my belief in what we term as “The Golden Rule”.

I’m God fearing, an Accountant by day and an Airbnb host… both by day and by night. Ha! 😜 You thought I was going to say “by night” only… but nope! It’s a day and night kind of thing. It’s time consuming and a constant job but so rewarding!

In a weird way, it has increased my love for people. And one may logically think it would have the opposite effect seeing that you do encounter people who are nit-picky, break your coffee carafes (😆) cover your mirror (🫤), always want a refund (😤) etc. But honestly, this journey has taught me much patience, more endurance, has given me valuable experiences and has made my love for the human race to grow. 🫶

I’m just thankful! 🙌 Because GROWTH is definitely the GOAL. 😉

If you feel like returning the favor and introducing yourselves to me, I’d be grateful 😇.

And if not, just read and Like and go about your day. All is love. 💕

Until our next post…✌️

Is anyone else like me and are always looking for opportunities to improve their cabins? I’ve been quite inspired by lately and want to make some minor yet notable changes that I think my guests will 💗. If you’re like me and 🫶 a good cabin update, swipe left for some of the changes we’re looking to make and follow us to stay tuned. 🙌

Also, would love your input. What are your thoughts concerning consistent updates to a property? Are you more a “design it and forget it” type of person? Or do you weigh the costs? Which are you? Comment below. 👇

Without a doubt the hot tub amenity is STILL one of the most sought after amenities in cabin stays. Today I reflect back on the process it took to get us here while undoubtedly our current guests are using this amenity with zero clue of the work, creativity and sweat equity it took to get us here. 😏

P.S. swipe left to the end to see our contractor relax in our hammock after a hard day of work 🤣

The best features in this cabin isn’t the vegan carmel sofa or the black and white striped washable rug or the black accent chair with a velvet yellow throw… nope! It’s the large wood frame windows 🪟 that when you peek through it can see tall beautiful trees🌲 and mountain 🏔 views! 😊But what is your favorite feature here?

Cabin owners: How do you stack your firewood? Is it near your cabin or away from your cabin? Does where you place it depend on the season? Do you cover it to shield from rain?

These are important questions to consider as firewood can invite wood-boring pests which is why most will recommend stacking them away from the home. And I agree, in part.

You see, most wood-boring pests don’t make their way out until Spring through Summer which is when we stack our firewood away from the cabin under a cover.

So for the Fall through Winter, we feel comfortable stacking our firewood on our cabin’s front porch for the guests’ ease of use and to protect against the rain/snow.

What are your thoughts? Where do you fall on this debate?
