UREC focuses on employment, career development, networking, technical workshops and lots, lots more! Currently at the undergraduate level there is no relationship between recent graduates with professions in real estate and the Haas community. This semester we are starting a mailing list for recent graduates from UREC. We are maintaining a list of where these recent graduates are working. We are a
lso keeping them informed about our professional events and invite current members to contact them to learn more about specific jobs. Last semester we educated the Haas community about different aspects of real estate through our CREW event. At the event approximately 20 professionals attended and spoke about their experiences in REITs, development, brokerage, investments, mortgages, property management, architecture, and finance. Over 75 people attended at both the undergraduate and graduate level. This spring we will hold the same event. In addition to networking events, this semester we will provide hard skills to our members and anyone interested in the Haas community. Especially for students that have not taken UGBA 180, we will distribute materials with cap rates, net asset value, and mortgage information. Additionally, this semester we will distribute materials related to relevant real estate trends and different markets by obtaining subscriptions to SNL Financial and Green Street Advisors, if possible.
