For those of you familiar with the old game of "Spoons", my young Son, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins have reinvented it as "Things".

Note, when you replace a spoon with a thing, be very selective. The game was eventually called due to injury. Who would have thought a bottle opener would be the culprit? They did at least reconsider the Chef's Knife!

There was wisdom in the choice of Spoons...

Homes that are well prepared prior to listing will get the most interest. But well prepared does not mean perfect!

It's not about perfection. It's about highlighting your home's best face, so buyers can relate. What is it you love about your home? Highlight that. Maybe you've got a killer sunroom. Or the birds and bees are drawn to your backyard oasis.

And be honest about the imperfections. Yes, the kitchen needs a refresh. But it's a great opportunity for the next family to call your house their home by putting their personal touch on that kitchen.

My mother loved a yellow kitchen with an aqua blue floor. I think it reminded her of time spent on childhood vacations at the coast with her mom and dad. Her kitchen is that color to this day. But I suspect others might prefer something different...
