Marshall Square, Chicago.
A neighborhood in Community Area 30 South Lawndale, named for the square formed by Marshall Boulevard.
A neighborhood within a neighborhood, as with many in Chicago, it’s widely considered by many of its residents to simply be the easternmost part of South Lawndale, with residents and businesses using the Little Village name.
Points of interest include: the art-deco Marshall Square Theater, which was originally a vaudevillevenue, later a silent movie theater, el “Apollo’s 2000”; the remaining building of the former Albaugh-Dover mail-order warehouse and factory, and the highly visible statue of Marquette and Joliet which stands at the junction between Marshall Boulevard and 24th Boulevard.
