In a conversation with HousingWire, HomeServices of America, Inc. CEO, Christian Kelly, shares the strategic thinking behind adding in-house mortgage servicing through wholly owned lender, Prosperity Home Mortgage, LLC.

As Kelly explains, "The reason we are doing this is not just to have another business line, but because we are increasingly seeing that loans end up with a servicer and those servicers are moving further upstream."

"When we really look across our platform, we view ourselves as really the only true real estate brokerage now that can fill every bucket of search, brokerage, mortgage, title, insurance and then also servicing now," Kelly said, describing how the move extends HomeServices' OnePoint, the complete real estate experience, well beyond the closing table.

"We are not hoping to get clients back, we are continuing to build a relationship throughout their life cycle as a homeowner to continue to earn their business," he added.
