No one talks about the emotional rollercoaster that is being a realtor! Our goal is to get you to closing as quickly and smoothly as possible and any roadblocks hit us hard. These things often go unmentioned or overlooked and end up confusing the buyers! So I’m sure to mention them once the ink has dried on that deed:

- every toilet flushes differently, even in the same house. Some you have to hold down the handle longer, some clog easier, and that’s totally normal. But still takes some getting used to.

- The loudest room in your house might be a closet. New buyers won’t notice weird gurgles and hums that come from HVAC, water heaters, and sump pumps until they move in. Just because you think the noise is weird doesn’t mean something is wrong - remember, your house just passed an inspection! But if you’re ever unsure, it’s okay to call a professional to take a look. Eventually, this noise becomes background noise!

- Neighbors’ flood lights can light up your room like a football stadium. This is something you just won’t know until your first night in! Having window treatments installed on day one is key to making sure you feel comfortable on the first night.

- where water goes matters more than where it comes from. Most buyers check faucets. Fewer check where rainwater drains after a storm. Poor drainage can lead to expensive foundation or landscaping issues. So at the first rain, take a little stroll around your property to make sure everything is draining smoothly.
