decided to build a small house with friend Joe Gilmore. They formed Gilmore & Blair Construction Co. Bill sold one of his first homes for $10,900 while other houses back then ranged from $7,000 to $15,000. He had no idea his company would eventually turn into a second generation family business that builds high-end custom homes. Bill was CEO in 1988 when he handed over the keys of Blair Custom Hom

es to his son John J. Blair, age 27. John became president and is currently CEO and owner of the company. A lifelong resident of Saucon Valley, John has been in the home building business for more than thirty-five years. Our current office location on Route 378 was established in 1986 and remains a fixture of south Bethlehem. Blair Custom Homes has since done building projects in numerous developments such as Saddle Ridge in Hellertown, Tara Lee in Coopersburg and Valley Green in Center Valley. Old Mill in Bethlehem, Maple Ridge in Upper Saucon Township and WeyHill Farms in Lower Saucon Township are home to some of our larger executive home projects. Blair Custom Homes is also developing Stever Mills, an executive twin-home development in Bethlehem. Numerous awards from the Lehigh Valley Builders Association were the result of several of these projects including the 2009 “Architecturally Designed Home” award for one WeyHill Farms project, a 9,000 sq. home. While our primary focus is on the Saucon Valley area, we are active in on-your-lot building in surrounding areas such as Macungie, Quakertown, Easton and Nazareth. Over the years we’ve branched out into home renovations and additions as well. A development named “Old Saucon” is in the planning stages. It will be a mixed use project featuring retail stores, single family homes, twins and open space.
