Founded in 1980 by the German art collector, Benedikt Taschen, Taschen started out as a small comic book store in Cologne, Germany. In the 46 years since then, the publishing house became a household name by printing art books in large quantities and pricing them affordably, making art more accessible to the masses. Many of these books focus on architecture and design, a particular interest for Mr. Taschen.

And now, the German publisher and architecture buff has put up one of his personal passion projects for sale: the Adelman residence in Beverly Hills. Built in 1956 by architects Thornton Abell and O’Neil Ford, Mr. Taschen purchased the midcentury house in 2018, which he then painstakingly restored. The asking price is $25 million.
