Collaborating with their friend and colleague, Thomas Williams, they established a law school on the former Riviera campus of the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB). In 1978, the merger of the two institutions led to the creation of the Santa Barbara & Ventura Colleges of Law, thriving with campuses in both Santa Barbara and Ventura.
