Pride is a celebration of being able to live openly, honestly, and authentically.

It’s also a reminder that despite our differences, we all want many of the same things: acceptance, respect, opportunity, safety, and a sense of belonging.

This Pride Week in Los Angeles, let’s celebrate what makes each of us unique while remembering that we’re stronger when we listen to one another, show a little kindness, and find common ground.

Happy Pride.

ART MARKET RESET

As an avid art collector, seeing this shift in the art market is disappointing.

Collectors are becoming more selective, galleries are tightening their belts, and some artists are finding the market far more challenging than they did just a few years ago.

I’ve never collected art for the financial upside. The reward has always been discovering artists, living with their work, and watching their careers evolve.

The market may change, but great art endures.

Luxury buyers today are looking beyond square footage and finishes.

The most sought after homes combine privacy, wellness, entertaining spaces, thoughtful design, and a location that enhances everyday life.

The definition of luxury continues to evolve, but one thing remains the same: buyers are willing to pay a premium for homes that make life better.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐕 𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭

I understand why people are drawn to high profile real estate agents.

I am too.

Many have built impressive brands and successful businesses, and they deserve the recognition they’ve earned.

What viewers don’t always see is the work behind the scenes.

The marketing gets the attention, but experience, relationships, negotiation, and problem-solving are what get deals across the finish line.

The public sees the spotlight. The clients experience the work.

Most people think their house is what gains value over time.

It’s usually the land underneath it.

The reality is pretty simple:

Your home is constantly depreciating unless you keep investing in it. Roofs age. Kitchens date. Paint fades. Systems break. Even after a major renovation, the clock starts ticking again the next day.

But the land?

That’s often where the real long term appreciation happens.

It’s one of the reasons two nearly identical homes can have wildly different values depending on location.

A lot of homeowners become “house rich, cash poor” trying to keep up with maintenance just to stay competitive with the market around them.

Real estate isn’t just buying a home.
It’s balancing two separate assets:
• A structure that slowly wears out
• Land that can become dramatically more valuable over time

That distinction matters more than ever in Los Angeles, especially in Beverly Hills and West Hollywood where location often drives value far more than the house itself.

AI is transforming real estate faster than most people realize.

Today’s buyers can research pricing, compare neighborhoods, analyze trends, and tour homes online before ever speaking with an agent. That shift is permanent — and it’s changing the role of agents in a major way.

But data alone doesn’t close deals. Judgment does.

Especially in Los Angeles luxury real estate, where value is often driven by factors technology cannot fully measure: emotion, architectural significance, privacy, lifestyle fit, timing, and human psychology.

Two homes may look identical on paper and feel completely different the moment you walk through the door.

AI can process information.
Experience understands people.

That’s why local insight, negotiation strategy, and human connection still matter more than ever at the high end of the market.

IS THE OPEN FLOOR PLAN REALLY DEAD?

Not quite — but it is evolving.

Buyers still love bright, connected spaces, especially in Los Angeles where indoor-outdoor living is part of the lifestyle. But the way people use their homes has changed.

Today’s buyers want flexibility: spaces that can function as offices, media rooms, gyms, or quiet retreats. Instead of one massive open room, many are leaning toward a more balanced “broken concept” layout — open and airy, but with thoughtful separation.

Think:
• Home offices & dens
• Media rooms
• Pocket doors & archways
• Glass dividers
• Prep kitchens & hidden storage

Buyers still want openness, natural light, and connected living spaces. They just also want the ability to close a door, reduce noise, and create privacy when needed.

The open floor plan isn’t dead — buyers simply want smarter, more functional living spaces.

Let’s talk design and lifestyle, are you team fully open, or do you prefer a more balanced layout with defined spaces? Drop your thoughts below or DM me if you’re exploring homes with the right kind of flow.

This Memorial Day feels different.

With so much uncertainty, division, and noise in the world right now, today is a reminder that freedom, stability, and the ability to build a life and a home were never guaranteed. They were paid for by people willing to sacrifice everything for something bigger than themselves.

Grateful for those who served, and especially for those who never came home.

Wishing everyone a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day.
