According to the latest NAR data, existing-home sales rose 3.2% in May, hitting their highest level since December. As affordability improves, buyers are coming back: first-time buyers made up 35% of sales last month, up from 30% a year ago.
Even with more activity, supply remains tight β€” keeping the market competitive for sellers, with about a quarter of homes selling above list price and an average of 2.3 offers per listing. Homes are also moving faster, spending a median of just 29 days on market.
