Behind the scenes of our first family photoshoot: Lucci woke up at 2:30 am and refused to go back to bed. Allen went and hung out with her until he passed out around 6 am. I scooped up Lucci and casually started making breakfast and drinking coffee...until I realized I hadn't finished the laundry last night and the outfit I wanted Lucci to wear was still soaking wet. 😒 In fact, ALL of her cutest clothes were soaking wet. I had given ZERO thought to what I would wear. I was still in my robe and Allen was still in bed when I realized I had miscalculated our travel time and we needed to leave in 10 minutes.🤪 We get to the park and all she wants to do is run around and explore and go wild. It was windy and I still don't really know how to style her super fine baby hair, so they just blew around in the wind. She rolled down a set of cold stone stairs and I both laughed and cursed Allen, as if it was his fault. In other words, it felt like a total s**tshow.
Then I saw the pics! They're beautiful. They're very US. Allen is handsome and Lucci has a knack for looking right into the camera and giving a huge smile. They're everything to me.
The mom thing is super humbling. Sometimes I get mad at myself for how things go, like, "Why didn't you lay out the outfits ahead of time?" or "Why didn't you get everyone ready on time?" or "You should have gotten there earlier so she could run around BEFORE pictures!" Honestly, at the end of the day, if we have food in our bellies, we've got somewhat clean clothes on, and we're safe and healthy, that's a big win. Perfectly curated matching outfits or organizing meal preps just isn't in the cards for me...right now.
A huge thank you to for connecting me with , the amazing photographer who took these pics. He did FREE mini-shoots for the entire month of November & it was a pleasure working with him. He killed it, even after our kid rolled down a flight of stairs and would not stop running around 😝
