As a seller and purchaser in a tricky situation, my senior mother and I relied upon the professionalism, dedication, patience and perseverance of Jaime Ruiz and Ryan Williams as we sold a home that we had owned for almost 34 years and sought a replacement property, with simultaneous closing dates. Although the house we sold was a bit worse for wear, it was situated in one of the most desirable locations in the Melrose/Beverly Grove area, and thus it sold quickly. The challenge, as we learned, was finding a turnkey property within our price range close to The Grove. Jaime and Ryan, not only chauffeured my mom, who lives in LA, but no longer drives (I’m in New York City), but they also provided sound (and sensitive) advice – they would interpret listing prices and help us base decisions less on emotion, and more on market analysis. They also provided suggestions on escrow companies, inspectors, roofers, movers, financing, and insurance. They were open to our suggestions and adapted easily to the limitations and preferences we had at any moment in time – and these preferences changed constantly as we better understood the Beverly Grove market! They demonstrated the ability to work in difficult and often disappointing situations and yet they helped provide solutions, for example:
• Home with structural problems = back out
• Unsophisticated/unresponsive sellers and listing broker = find another house
• Delayed closing on our purchase = rent home back for several days from our purchaser
• Roof issue with new purchase = brokers along with seller offer credit to cover repair costs
• Set moving date = get seller to allow use of garage for storage
During this process we never had the feeling that we were dealing with a company or a firm - rather, we felt that we had teamed with individuals who were truly dedicated to the best possible outcome – they exemplify what we all hope to find in professional real estate brokers.
