12 Stories, Zero Parking, One Filing: SB 79 Hits Santa Monica

A new filing confirms Santa Monica’s second SB 79 project: developer Bruce Adler has proposed a 12-story, 32-unit apartment building to replace a single-family home near a Metro stop. Under California’s SB 79 transit housing law, developers can bypass standard city zoning approval when a share of units are designated affordable, in this case six of the 32.

For homeowners near Santa Monica’s transit corridors, this is the kind of zoning shift that can move property values in either direction depending on proximity, lot size, and current use.

He Could Be on a Yacht. Instead, He's Running for Santa Monica City Council.

Doug Trussler built his company, Bancapital, from scratch right here in Santa Monica, handling billions of dollars and helping struggling companies turn themselves around.
