Today was a beautiful day for a waterfront open house.

Before heading out, I grabbed a book from our office library to read during any downtime. The title was *The Art of Getting Back Up* by Wayne Salmans.

The timing felt appropriate.

Open houses have a lot of variables. Weather, holidays, weekend plans, timing, location, and simply what people have going on that day can all affect traffic.

You can prepare the property, market it well, put the signs out, open the doors, and be there ready to work—and you still can't control who decides to walk through.

That's real estate.

The important part is not letting one day's traffic—or lack of it—become the story.

One open house is one data point. It doesn't determine the value of a property, the quality of the marketing, or whether the right buyer is out there.

Our job is to show up, pay attention, make adjustments when necessary, and keep moving forward.

Today happened to be a beautiful day to sit by the water and read a few pages.

And the book title was a good reminder:

**You don't need every day to go exactly as planned. You just need to be willing to get back up and keep going.**

That's true in real estate, and it's true in just about everything else.

You can complain that it’s raining on your parade… or you can learn to embrace the rain. 🌧️

Today, I chose the latter.

Negotiating offers. Showing up for a listing appointment. Standing on the waterfront in the middle of a dreary day and reminding myself that sometimes the best things aren’t revealed in perfect conditions.

This photo doesn’t do this property justice. Not even close. The view in person is a million times more spectacular than what my phone managed to capture through the gray.

But maybe that’s the point.

Real estate—and life—aren’t always about waiting for the sun to come out.

Sometimes it’s about showing up in the rain, seeing the potential through the clouds, and knowing that there is still something beautiful standing right in front of you.

The weather will change.
The view will change.
The circumstances will change.

But the people who keep showing up?
They’re the ones who get to see what’s waiting on the other side of the storm.

Today, I’m grateful to be standing exactly where I’m supposed to be. 🌊🏡

Years into this business, constantly focused on lead generation, it was a review Stephanie left recently—reflecting back on our very first transaction in 2021—that completely floored me and reset my perspective.

It reminded me that while we're always chasing what's next, the true heart of this work will always be honoring the clients who trusted us from the beginning. Showing up for Stephanie during such a heavy life transition—and continuing to serve her and her family since—is the real reason I do what I do.

A little glimpse into the very glamorous life of a Realtor… 😂🏡

Last week, I jokingly said to my coworker, “Aww, you got me lunch!” 😂

She said, “Well, you can have half of it.”

The old me would’ve said, “Oh no, I couldn’t!”

Nowadays? SIGN ME UP!!! 😂🙋‍♀️
Unapologetically.

The BR lunch box is one of my favorites, and it had been way too long since I’d stopped in and actually prioritized lunch.

So I happily accepted half of her fresh meal, added some homemade pickles another coworker made and a little cheese from our breakfast meeting stash—and called it lunch. 😂🥒🧀

Sometimes growth looks like something as simple as saying, “Yep, I’ll take half.”

As we wind down these final weeks of summer, I’ve been thinking back on what makes this time of year so special. Every season has its charm, but nothing beats the total stillness of being outdoors. ☀️

Whether it’s time out on the river or just relaxing among the trees, I’m always drawn to those simple, quiet moments in nature—no agenda, no noise, just a breath of fresh air. 🌲🌊

I snapped this personal photo on a recent outing—a little piece of stillness I wanted to hold onto. 🤍 Getting to soak in so much time outside this season (even while showing some amazing local properties along the way) has been the best backdrop.
