I'm making another post about this as I've been checking up on a lot of you and have found a quite a few who were not enrolled. I would hate for any of you to miss the deadline - so here is the info on it again:

The State of Montana has enacted a property tax law that takes effect March 1, 2026. This law allows homeowners who occupy their property as their primary residence to qualify for a reduced property tax rate. The purpose of this law is to help keep property taxes more manageable for Montana residents who live in their homes full-time, rather than using them as rental or second homes.

Please check and see if your property is enrolled. If a primary residence is not enrolled, it will be taxed at a higher rate once the changes take effect.

To review and enroll your property, please visit the Montana Department of Revenue website at:

You will need the property GeoCode number to complete the process. Your GeoCode number can be found on your tax bill and you can also look up your property tax info here:

Please go online before March 1st to see if you’re enrolled and if not, enroll right away. Also, let your friends and family know about this as well as I don’t think they did a very good job in getting the word out there. Please let me know if there is any way I can help as well.
