I wouldn’t be who I am today without the teachers who believed in me—sometimes before I believed in myself.
Growing up in Billings, I was surrounded by educators who did way more than teach. They led with heart. They showed us what it meant to work hard, think critically, stay curious, and treat people well.
Those lessons went beyond the classroom—and they stuck.
I can still remember the teachers who pulled me aside with words of encouragement, who challenged me to aim higher, who held me to a higher standard because they saw potential.
That kind of impact doesn’t fade. It compounds.
Seeing this year’s Golden Apple Award winners reminded me how much of a gift great teachers really are. They’re mentors, motivators, mindset coaches—and they’re shaping the future every single day.
To the seven educators honored this year: thank you. Your work matters more than you know. This community is lucky to have you.
And to the teachers who shaped my life—you’re part of the reason I get to do what I do today.
This town raised me, and I’ll always be proud of that.
