I’m selling my house… why should I hire an agent, they just cost unnecessary money?!

Should you buy a house in the winter?

The short answer is YES!

The long answer is:

- There are usually less buyers searching for home in the fall & winter
✅ this means more buying power for you! Less buyers in the market forces sellers to review all offers carefully 💰

- no central air?!
✅ believe it or not, many homes in broome county don’t have central a/c. Moving in the cooler months gives you a chance to decide if you want it, and if so, you can have it installed BEFORE you need it! 🥵

- Winter weather gives you an idea of how well a home is insulated (or not)
✅ this means you are able to tell where moisture may find its way inside, where pipes may be susceptible to freezing, and how expensive your heat bill will be 🥶

- movers may be more available during the colder months
✅ if you are hiring a moving company, the winter is usually the slower season, you may have more flexibility with choosing a date of your preference AND may get an off season discount 🗓️

- holidays!
✅ who doesn’t want to ring in the holidays in a brand new (to you) home?! A nice change, and a fresh setup, can be such a refreshing feeling ☃️
