Not all financing is created equal. For large-scale manufacturing and 501(c)(3) projects, bonds can offer distinct advantages over traditional commercial lending:

✅ Potential for lower, tax-exempt interest rates.
✅ Can be bundled with sales and mortgage tax abatements.
✅ Tailored for long-term, high-impact community projects.

If your 2026 goals involve expansion, don’t leave money on the table. Our team is here to help you navigate the process from application to closing.

📣 The Agency will host a public information session regarding the 600 Main Street redevelopment project on Wednesday, May 27, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Town of Union Board Room, located at 3111 East Main Street. 📣

The purpose of the session is to reintroduce the project to the community and provide residents with an opportunity to learn more about the site’s history, current status, and future development plans. Members of The Agency and its engineering team will be present to answer questions and discuss the project.

Key Facts:
🔵 The Agency took ownership of the 600 Main Street property in 2018 following completion of environmental remediation activities by the United States Air Force.
🔵 In 2020, the IDA prepared a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement (DGEIS) for the property. The subsequent findings statement recommended elevating the site out of the floodplain to support future redevelopment opportunities.
🔵 To advance those efforts, The Agency received a FAST NY Track C award to support the development of a shovel-ready pad elevated above the floodplain, helping position the property for future economic development opportunities.

As part of the formal site plan review process, the Town of Union Planning Board will also host a public hearing on the project during its next scheduled meeting on June 9.

Community members are encouraged to attend the May 27 information session to learn more!

Through our Business Development Fund, The Agency is proud to support the revitalization of 121 Court Street — a project that will bring new housing and commercial energy to Downtown Binghamton.

By providing financial assistance, we helped reduce project costs and move this redevelopment forward. Once complete, the building will feature four market‑rate apartments and a new commercial/retail space, adding both vibrancy and economic opportunity to one of our community’s most important corridors.

This investment reflects our commitment to strengthening Broome County’s urban core, supporting small developers, and creating places where people want to live, work, and build their future.
