Meet Megan
Practice Works member Megan Wetherbee is a therapist and owner of Megan Wetherbee Therapy. One of her favorite quotes is by the poet Rainer Marie Rilke, from his poem, “Go To The Limits of Your Longing”. In it he wrote, “Let everything happen to you: beauty & terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final."
From Megan: "I know that life can be filled with both beauty & terror. I also know that our feelings can change with time & support. I am here to be that support. My goal as a therapist is to help you understand yourself better, help you process complex emotions, and serve as a safe, objective space for you to share your struggles no matter how big or small. I come from an eclectic approach that leans heavily on both cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) concepts and a psychodynamic approach. In my therapy sessions, I frequently discuss concepts like inner monologues and self-talk as well as self-concept and core beliefs. I work with clients facing everyday life stressors, depression and anxiety. I also have an interest in grief work and enjoy working with clients who have lost a loved one. This fall, I plan to complete a grief somatics certification, which will blend both grief work with body-based healing."
She is currently licensed in both Alabama & Mississippi and provides therapy services both in-person or remotely.
