WHAT I LEARNED - THE PROCESS
I spent forever on branding (aesthetics)...ruminating on these elaborate ideas while trying to learn about business principles that I didn’t need to focus on just to get started. That time should have been spent on learning the core activities of my business and how to make it profitable and successful (this definition is subjective) per my definition of success. Businesses make profits - you don’t need a costly hobby!
🔧Nothing sustainable is built overnight. Rome wasn’t build in a day and unlearning all the things that have held you back will take some time as well BUT don’t let it stop you from doing the inner and outer work! You have to be willing to let go of your old ways of thinking and doing to embrace the new ways that actually work. As I’ve been told, “What got you here won’t get you there.”
⛏Too many of us have been focused on the outside game versus the inside game. Building strong, effective businesses are an inside game! It takes intangible forces to bring your vision from the unseen to the seen realm to create something that will stand the test of time, not just another opportunity to get a bag (if that’s your approach I’m not mad at you BUT as for me - there is just more to it).
🔩Just know when you see this extension of me, you see the product of some hard decisions I had to make to choose embracing the process over perfection. The cost of “perfection” is far too high…especially when you’re funding it with your fear and not your faith, as it continues to rob you blindly of all you could be if only you’d come to see the value in small beginnings. You have to choose to move! Sometimes it doesn’t seem that easy. To tell you the truth, it’s not, but it’s step by step and brick by brick.
🛠It took years to overcome what I needed to get active. Although I’ve made progress, I’ve done myself a disservice and I’m yet overcoming. This is a building block that was forged in blood, sweat, tears, prayer, therapy and the byproducts of faith/belief. Holding on for dear life produced perseverance, character and hope! (See Romans 5:1-5)
