MEET JESSICA CLARK - owner of J&J Crafts in Mandan, North Dakota
I actually met Jessica when I taught her son in elementary school about 10 years ago, and I have since followed her journey/business on social media. If you are looking for personalized blankets, burp cloths, crinkle tag blankets (Raya's Fav) toddler/baby blankets, cloth books, pillow cases, totes, and specialty projects, Jessica is your gal!
I asked Jessica a few questions to get to know her and her business a bit more:
What first got you into sewing?
"I learned to sew as a young girl. Sewing has always been a family event. My mom, my grandma, and myself would work on projects together taking turns cutting, pinning, and sewing. We made quite a few quilts together, and one Christmas, we made pajamas for all of my siblings and cousins. Since my mom and grandma have both passed, my sister Elizabeth has really been helping out."
What has been your favorite project or custom order?
"I love when people come to me with ideas for a special project. One time I made a special baby blanket for a new mom with fabric from her wedding dress and a bridesmaid’s dress. Another example was I helped my sister Kaitlyn make some baby blankets with our mom’s favorite shirts. She did most of the sewing, but I helped her guide her through the process."
What's your dream or a goal for your business?
"If I let myself dare to dream big, my dream would be able to support my family with my business. I love sewing and creating new things. I also love the flexibility of being a small business owner."
