FinCEN stands for the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. It’s a division of the U.S. Treasury that fights money laundering, fraud, and financial crimes.

FinCEN has expanded reporting requirements — especially around:

Many LLCs, corporations, and business entities now have to report:
• Who actually owns the company
• Who controls the company

This was created under the Corporate Transparency Act.
