Stay and play at the Falls!
Georgia is hiding a waterfall taller than Niagara, and half the state has never seen it. 😮 Toccoa Falls drops a full 186 feet down a dark mossy cliff up in the northeast corner of the state. Niagara only falls about 167. Let that sink in.
Tucked away on a quiet college campus near the town of Toccoa, the falls slip down into a cool green pool with ferns clinging to the rocks and mist hanging in the morning air. 🌿 You hear it before you see it. Then you round the corner and there it is, this giant ribbon of water most people drive right past on their way to the mountains.
North Georgia is full of these little secrets. Waterfalls, gorges, cold creeks, and back roads that don't show up on a postcard but stay with you once you find them. Toccoa is one worth the trip.
Have you ever stood at the bottom of Toccoa Falls, or is it going on your list now? 💧
