Coffered ceilings and a fireplace surround give a room instant character, but they only work when everything else lets them breathe instead of competing with them.

The green velvet sofa adds contrast without fighting the neutral palette. The live edge coffee table brings warmth without trying to match the wood tones too closely. The chandelier pulls the ceiling detail all the way down into the room, which is one of the easiest ways to make a space feel put together from top to bottom.

Most people don't think about that vertical connection when they're designing a living room. When it works, you feel it even if you can't explain why.

Tile direction is one of those details most people don't notice until it's wrong.

Running it vertical here gave the shower wall more height and a lot more visual interest than the standard layout would have.

The variation in finish across each piece does the rest. 🤍

Most walk-in closets end up feeling like storage that happened to get a vanity tucked in at the end. This one was planned the other way around.

The hanging sections run along both sides, the shelving stays open for easy access, and the vanity sits at the far end where it actually makes sense to use it.

Marble counter, brass hardware, sconces on both sides. The herringbone floor ties the whole room together without competing with anything else going on.

White cabinetry runs the full perimeter, and the brass hardware keeps it from feeling too clean.

The pendant cluster above the island is the one moment where the design takes a deliberate risk. It holds.

The reading corner works because everything in it has a clear role. The shelving runs the full wall height to keep the books organized without taking up floor space.

The lounge chair sits low and close enough to the lamp to actually be useful. The small side table handles the rest. Nothing in this corner is decorative for the sake of it.

The kitchen sits at the center of this layout by design. From the island, you have a clear sight line to the living area, the shelving wall, and the window beyond. Green cabinetry grounds the space without closing it off.
