There are plenty of benefits when you live in a co-op. They usually feature nicer shared common areas, such as a pool, recreation center, library, etc. Closing costs are generally lower as you won't need to pay for some fees such as title insurance. The primary difference is that you don't own the unit, rather a share of the property. This means you have a say in how the co-op runs! Have a burning question about how co-ops operate?
